WORCESTER – Rita A. St. John, 89, of Worcester, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Autumn Village Nursing Home, Worcester. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of George E. and Nellie M. (Cox) St. John.
Rita leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a dear friend, Ralph McSweeney of Nova Scotia. Eight brothers and sisters predeceased her: Earl, May, Blanche, Ernest, Helen, Gertrude, Alice and Dorothy. Rita was a graduate of South High School and worked as a dental assistant and oral surgical technician for area dentists and oral surgeons. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Angels Church where her mother was one of the founding members. She attended daily morning Mass, Bible Study classes, and was a member of the Thursday Afternoon Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9 to 10 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
