RUTLAND – Vera A. (Staniec) McMenemy, 94, of Rutland, died Monday, February 11, 2008 in Holden Nursing Home, after an illness.
Her husband of 44 years, George P. McMenemy, died in 1990. She leaves two sons, Maurice D. Pearson of Rutland and John J. McMenemy of Worcester; three daughters, Evelyn D. Fotter of Cherry Valley, Ann L. Dick of West Brookfield and Maureen L. McMenemy of Rutland; two sisters, Julia Staniec and Frances Miller both of Silver Creek, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Silver Creek, daughter of Bartley and Julia (Marficia) Staniec, and lived in Worcester for 35 years, Rutland for 25 years before moving to Holden 2 years ago. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Rutland.
