SOUTH LANCASTER – Valentina A. (Somensini) Bourgeois, 92, of Sylvan Road, died on her 67th wedding anniversary, April 6, 2009 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Her husband, David H. Bourgeois, died on March 8, 2003. She leaves three daughters, Dolores B. Kingdon wife of John W. Kingdon of Holden, Rose Marie Kilcoyne wife of Michael J. Kilcoyne of Clinton and Antoinette S. McConnell wife of William A. McConnell of Salem, SC; two sisters, Eda Collins of Leominster and Rose Somensini of South Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Kerry Anne Kilcoyne of Clinton, David T. Kilcoyne of Greenbackville, VA, Joshua A. Kingdon of Los Angeles, CA, Melissa A. Kingdon of San Mateo, CA, Angela (McConnell) Boltz and her husband Jason of Smyrna, GA, 1st Lt Christopher D. McConnell USAF of Rapid City, SD, 2nd Lt Michael J. McConnell USAF and his wife Whitni of Goldsboro, NC, Alicia C. McConnell of New York, NY and Aimee N. McConnell of Salem, SC. Two sisters, Stella A. Priestman and Mary E. Barbaresi, and a brother, Antonio Somensini, predeceased her.
She was born in Somerville on February 14, 1917, the daughter of Cesare and Angelina (Florioli) Somensini, and has lived in South Lancaster for over 80 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Lancaster, and enjoyed baking and spending time with her cherished children and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Lancaster at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Clinton. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
