PAXTON/WEST BOYLSTON – Elizabeth A. (Shaughnessy) Nanof, 78, of Angell Brook Dr., died peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus, Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 55 years, Robert T. Nanof; three sons, Robert J. Nanof of Mashpee, James S. Nanof and his wife Gail of Lancaster and Thomas P. Nanof and his wife Kimberly of Belgrade, Maine; a brother, John Shaughnessy and his wife Margaret of Boylston; two grandchildren, Beth Ann and Christopher J. Nanof both of Lancaster; two nephews; and many cousins. Betty was born in Worcester the daughter of John and Kathrine (Walsh) Shaughnessy and lived 50 years in Paxton before moving to West Boylston in 2007.
Betty graduated from Commerce High School and worked as a supervisor at New England Telephone Co., both in Worcester. She was a member of St. Columba Church in Paxton and enjoyed knitting, vacationing at the beach, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. One of her fondest memories was her trip to Bermuda with all her very special girlfriends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 10th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11th, in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton.
