HOLDEN – Eva A. (Sanborn) Hunt, 92, of John Street, died peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010, in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston.
Her husband of 68 years, Harold B. Hunt, Jr., died in 2006. She leaves two sons, Harold B. Hunt III of Melbourne Beach, Florida and Stephen E. Hunt and his wife Carol of Worcester; two daughters, Jane Hunt of Holden and Joan H. O’Toole of Clinton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by four brothers, Jay Anderson, Russell, Chester and Carl Sanborn. Eva was born in Worcester, the daughter of James C. and Mary I. (Renhult) Sanborn. From the age of 5, she was raised by her Aunt Mabel and Uncle Edward Van der Pyl and lived her entire life in Holden.
Eva graduated from Holden High School and Worcester Art Museum’s School of Art. After raising her children she was a store clerk at White Cleaners in Holden and Greendale for many years where she made many dear friends. She was especially known for her knitting and embroidery skills. Eva loved to entertain and bake for her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 2 to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 17th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in Grove Cemetery, Holden.
