RUTLAND – Henry A. Ruchala, Jr., 63, of 9 Miles Road, died at home of natural causes on Friday, March 28, 2008.
He leaves three sisters, Sally J. Nash of Norway, ME, Constance A. Boucher of Napa, California and Helene E. Irish of Rutland; two brothers, James M. Ruchala of Paxton and Thomas P. Ruchala of Rutland; eight nephews and nieces; and four great-nephews and nieces. A brother, Stephen E. Ruchala, Sr., passed away in 1999. Henry was born in Worcester, son of the late Henry A. and Veronica E. Ruchala, Sr., and lived in Rutland his entire life. He was a 1962 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School.
Henry was a metal fabricator for Sims Cab Manufacturing in Rutland for over 25 years. He was an on-call volunteer firefighter in Rutland for 35 years rising to the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Rutland Volunteer Fire Brigade and a previous member of the Worcester West Forest Wardens Association. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, flea markets, bowling, watching sports and was an ice racing fan for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Henry will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 3rd, in the funeral home with burial following in Rural Cemetery, Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rutland Volunteer Fire Brigade, Inc., 240 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543.
