HOLDEN - Arthur T. Westerlind, 84, of 18 St. Mary's Drive, Jefferson, died on Monday, May 2, 2005, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
His wife, Amelia (Kuycht) Westerlind, died in 1998. He leaves his daughter, Debra A. Pacheco and her husband Pedro of Worcester; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Frank Westerlind, all of Worcester; two sisters, Shirley Boomhauer and Helen Niemi, both of Florida; three grandchildren; a great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His first wife, Olive (Gray) Westerlind, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Frank and Mary E. (Zalinsky) Westerlind and lived many years in Grafton and 32 years in Jefferson.
Mr. Westerlind worked at Worcester Press Steel Company in Worcester for over 30 years. He later worked 10 years at the Worcester County Hospital in Boylston. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
The funeral for Mr. Westerlind will be held on Friday, May 6, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery 18 Waterville Street, North Grafton. A calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.
