Biography
WORCESTER - Arthur E. Chase, 84, a resident of Naples, Florida, formerly of Worcester died on Monday, January 5th.
He leaves his wife of 12 years, Elaine (Rosenwasser) Chase; two sons, Micah Chase and his wife, Iris of Worcester, and Tzvi Ben Elya and his wife, P’nina of Yokneam, Israel; a daughter, April Chase-Lubitz and her husband Jeffrey of Providence, RI; two step-sons, David Kaufman and his wife, Aleda of Arlington, VA, and Aaron Kaufman and his wife, Stephanie of State College, PA; and fourteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Wynne (Laipson) Chase, who died in 1997. He was also predeceased by his brother, Lewis Y. Chase and his sister, Muriel Wilchins.
He was formerly a Massachusetts State Senator, Worcester City Councilor, and member of the Worcester School Committee.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 1:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7TH IN TEMPLE EMANUEL SINAI, 280 MAY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be held at the family residence until 8:00PM on Wednesday, Jan. 7th, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 8th, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 9th, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, Jan. 11th, and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, Jan. 12th.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to The Jewish Home Hospice, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
