Arlene Barbara (Callender) Joseph

May 20, 1950 — February 15, 2022

Lancaster – Arlene Barbara (Callender) Joseph, 71, went to sleep to await the return of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on May 20, 1950, the daughter of Conrad and Una May (Darby) Callender and has lived in Lancaster for many years.

Arlene was a caring and knowledgeable woman that enjoyed helping others and sharing. She was very social and was always looking to help those in need even when she lacked the resources. She was good at figuring out what your problem was before you asked. And when she couldn't provide tangible help, she would instead use her time researching places and gathering information for whatever your problem was.

Arlene dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her fellow man. She graduated from Atlantic Union College in Lancaster. She had a passion for teaching and taught for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Northeastern Conference for many years. More recently she worked as a CNA and cared for her patients as if they were her own family. She was a dedicated member of the Seventh- day Adventist Community and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Arlene was predeceased by her son Stephen Alexander Joseph, her mother Una May (Darby) Harrison, her sister Victoria Elaine Harrison, and her brother Frederick Douglas Walter Darby Harrison. She is survived by her son, Alan Joseph and his wife, her daughter-in-law Tanika, their beloved son, her grandson Alan Josiah, and one grandchild on the way. She leaves her loving memories to also be cherished by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church community.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service honoring and celebrating Arlene’s life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, 75 Sawyer St., South Lancaster, MA. Burial will follow at Eastwood Cemetery, Old Common Rd., Lancaster, MA. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd, Sterling MA.
