HOLDEN – Elin A. (Nystrom) Johnson, 98, a former resident of Colony Homes in Holden, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, in UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, after a short illness.
Her husband, Eric T. Johnson, passed away in 1965. Elin is survived by her son, Eric G. Johnson and his wife Ruth of Jefferson; a grandson, Brent Johnson of Revere; a granddaughter, Linn Harvey and her husband Scott and their sons, Brandin and Nathan Harvey all of Westminster. A grandson, Eric C. Johnson, died in 2006. She also leaves a sister, Esther Kenney of Fort Myers, Florida, and nephews. A brother, Clifford Nystrom, predeceased her. Elin was born in Worcester, daughter of Ernest G. and Albertina (Pearson) Nystrom, and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden 27 years ago. For 10 years, she worked for Heald Machine Co. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in All Faith's Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 41 Whitmarsh Avenue, Worcester, MA 01606-3296.
