Annette A. (Goulet) Cossaboom

August 27, 1913 — August 20, 2011

WORCESTER – Annette A. (Goulet) Cossaboom, 97, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 20, 2011.

Her husband of 49 years, Richard L. Cossaboom, died in 1999. She leaves her daughter, Jane M. Goulet of Holden; a sister, Norma B. Jolin of Sarasota, Florida; two grandchildren, Seth J. Lillis and his wife Heather of Sterling and Heather G. Keenan and her husband Patrick of Holden; three great-grandchildren, Emma J. L. Pears, Jessica A. Lillis and Michael R. Lillis; nephews and nieces. A brother, E. Paul Goulet and a sister, Marie I. Denning predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Theodore H. and Marie A. (Girardin) Goulet and graduated from North High School in 1932.

Mrs. Cossaboom played the organ for 17 years at St. George's Church retiring in 1974. She also was the head cashier at John Hancock Insurance Company in Worcester for many years. She studied piano with Miss Reed and was class pianist for her graduating class. Annette was a member of the Worcester Festival Chorus. She played piano for the Worcester Light Opera Company and met her husband while playing "Sweethearts". She was a member of St. George's Church as well as its Women's Guild. She had a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and inspired her family with her kindness and compassion. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Cossaboom will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.
