Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Anne (Dubovick) Volk, 61, passed away, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at UMass Memorial Hospital. Born in Yonkers, NY and raised in Holden, MA she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Janet (Sutor) Dubovick.
Anne’s kind and compassionate nature led her to pursue a career caring for others. She attended the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science from Worcester State University. She went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career as a registered nurse. At the time of her passing, Anne worked for Aveanna Healthcare. She was previously employed by UMass Memorial Hospital, Overlook VNA, Americare, and the VNA of Cape Cod.
Anne had many talents and interests. She was an avid crafter, often spending her free time making candles, crocheting, and creating keepsakes for her family. Anne enjoyed astrology, music, and 80s movies. She was also a dedicated Disney and New England sports fan. Anne loved spending time on Cape Cod visiting the beaches and searching for unique items at the local antique shops. Above all else, Anne cherished time spent with her family. She was known for her enthusiastic celebration of the holidays and brought her joy to every occasion.
Anne was a constant source of love and support for her family. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her daughter, Nikki Fontaine and her husband, Andrew of Mashpee; her two sons, Brian Volk and his wife, Keri of Westminster and Daniel Volk and his wife, Sherry of Lancaster. She was a devoted grandmother to her 6 granddaughters, Caroline, Luciana, Jolie, Abigail, Sophia, and Eva Volk. Anne grew up in a large and loving family. She will be remembered by her sisters, Dee O’Hayre and her husband, Jack of Barrington, RI, Denise Ackerman and her husband, Craig of Leicester, Stacey Milgate of Hyannis, and Tracey Osgood and her husband, Dan of Centerville; her brother, Ken Dubovick and his wife, Laurie of Rutland; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Fenway.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 21 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance at give.ocrahope.org.
