Rutland – Anna Rita (Martocci) Meola, 91, of 2 Breezy Lane, died Friday, April 29, 2005 in the Jewish Healthcare Center, in Worcester after an illness.
Her husband of 37 years, Philip Meola, died in 1974. She leaves her daughter, Ruth (Meola) Hunter of West Yarmouth; two sons, Pastor Earle F. Meola and his wife Nancy of Mercer, Maine and Richard A. Meola and his wife Mary H. of Rutland; a brother, Roderick Martocci of Worcester; a sister, Faith (Martocci) Caron of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Anna also leaves her special friends, Mrs. Patricia Karsok, Mrs. Anne Weagle and Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Rochon. An infant son, Dana Patrick Meola, two grandsons, Edward Hunter Jr. and infant, John Andrew Meola, a brother, Joseph Martocci and three sisters, Patricia McCormick, Sabina Martella and Mary Martocci predeceased her. Anna Rita was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Rocco and Catherine (Carey) Martocci. She had lived many years in West Boylston and 17 years in Princeton before moving to Rutland in 1999.
The funeral service for Mrs. Meola will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2 Airport Drive, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
