WORCESTER – Ann Marie Stanton, 81, formerly of Larchmont, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2013, under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester. She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of the late William P. and Lauretta (Donnelly) Stanton.
Ann Marie graduated from St. Stephen’s High School in Worcester and Emanuel College in Boston. She was an elementary school teacher in New Rochelle, New York for 40 years before retiring over 20 years ago. Ann Marie loved to travel and visited numerous places all over the world. She was an avid skier in her youth and enjoyed skiing with family and friends.
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her brother, William J. Stanton and his wife Margaret of Shrewsbury; two nephews, William P. Stanton and Thomas P. Stanton, both of Holden; as well as her niece, Ellen M. Stanton-Randall of Boylston.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel at Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Interment will be private in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Ann Marie, to Notre Dame du Lac; or to Notre Dame Long Term Care Center.
