WEST BOYLSTON/HINGHAM - Ann L. Keating, 87, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Oakdale Nursing Home in West Boylston. She was born in Hingham on April 27, 1925 to Lawrence and Mary (Flanagan) Cook. She lived in Brooklyn, New York for many years after her marriage to Robert D. Keating, who predeceased her on April 22, 2003. They raised their family together in Holden and later returned to her beloved siblings in Hingham and Nantasket Beach to live after retirement. She most recently lived in West Boylston.
She is survived by four children, Patricia Sanfilippo and spouse John of Contoocook, NH, Barbara Keating of Orlando, FL, Nancy Cameron and spouse Kenneth of West Boylston and Robert Keating and spouse Leslie Tanaka, of Fall City, WA. She leaves four grandchildren, Christine Fales and spouse Kenneth of Goffstown, NH, Alyssa Lewtas and spouse Kevin of Cambridge and Patrick and Dana Cameron of West Boylston. She leaves three great-grandchildren, Liliana and Mariella Fales of Goffstown, NH and Maria Lewtas of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews.
Ann worked at Hingham Shipyard during World War II and later worked for many years at Sprague Electric in Worcester. She loved spending time with her family and friends and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known for her culinary skills at all family gatherings. She will be joining all her predeceased siblings, whom she greatly missed, in deep peace; Marie Sealey of Marlborough, Rita Hayes of Weymouth, Buddy Cook of Hingham, John Cook of Weymouth, Dorothy Garceau of Marlborough, Gloria Pizzelli of Hull and her stepmother, Adele Cook.
Ann’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Briarwood Assisted Living, Oakdale Skilled Nursing Home and Evercare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
There will be no calling hours and funeral services will be at a later date in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
