Anita H. (Hart) Cole

WESTBOROUGH/PRINCETON – Anita H. (Hart) Cole, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. She was born and raised in Lebanon, NH, the daughter of Leonard C. and Doris H. (Lee) Hart, and lived 15 years in Westborough and 20 years in Princeton before moving to Worcester 13 years ago.  Her husband of 67 years, Richard “Rick” A. Cole, passed away in 2010. She leaves her son, Stephen L. Cole and his wife, Cynthia of Westborough; her sister, Ann Nader of Winchendon; three grandchildren, Jaimeson, Jeffrey and Aislyn Cole, all of Westborough; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis R. Cole, in 1967. Anita was a published poet and a talented artist who enjoyed painting. She was a Gold Star Mother and along with her husband, organized and operated “Listening Ear”, a support, informational and referral service hot-line in the Westborough area for teenagers. She volunteered at area nursing homes, was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church and the Westborough Women’s Club. Formerly, she sang in the choir at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Westborough.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Mrs. Cole on Wednesday, October 18, at 11 a.m. in the St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden.  A private committal service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Music Dept. c/o Westborough High School, 90 West Main Street, Westborough, MA 01581.
