RUTLAND - Andrew M. Wohlander, 66, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 surrounded by family at UMass Memorial Medical Center after an illness. Born and raised in Holden, Andy was a son of the late Roy A. and Elaine N. (Field) Wohlander and lived 17 years in Perry, Maine before moving to Rutland in 2014.He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his son, Erik M. Wohlander of Jefferson; his daughter, Melissa A. Wohlander of Jefferson; a brother, Alan Wohlander of Northbridge; a sister, Alyce Johns of Spencer; three grandchildren, Jake and Paige Wohlander, and Jayden Egan; his former wife, Denise "Dee" Wohlander of Jefferson; nephews and nieces. Andy was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Wohlander.Andy graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1970 and attended Fitchburg State College. He worked many years at Holden Builder's Supply, G.V. Moore Lumber Company and Paul's Hardware stores in Holden and Leominster. Andy and Dee owned and operated Rutland Deli for 12 years. While living in Maine, Andy worked as a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed family cookouts, woodworking, fishing, water skiing and playing volleyball. First and foremost, Andy loved being a dad and grandfather. He always looked forward to spending time at their family camp on Highland Lake in Washington, New Hampshire.Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 pm on Saturday, August 4, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
