HOLDEN – Andre D. Debatis, 73, of 63 Walnut Street, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pauline F. (Lamoureux) Debatis; four daughters, Rachel B. Debatis of Leicester, Jeanne M. and her husband Kevin R. Depasse of Jefferson, Lucie A. and her husband Richard H. Morrill of Oakham, and Marie-Anne and her husband Michael J. Lavallee of Holden; a son, Andre D. Debatis, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Grafton; nine grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Kenneth and Kimberly Depasse all of Jefferson, Melissa and Jeremy Morrill both of Oakham, Nicole Lavallee of Holden, and Traci and Jennifer Debatis both of Grafton; a brother, David H. Debatis of Bellingham; two sisters, Yvette Debatis Dortel of France and Renee Lecoq of Florida; many nephews and nieces. He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the son of David and Marcelle (Viger) Debatis and lived 43 years in Holden.
Mr. Debatis worked at Olson Manufacturing in Holden and Killeen Machine Company in Worcester before retiring last year. He was a Korean War Veteran and served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson.
A funeral Mass for Mr. Debatis will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1325 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Renovation Fund, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522. Miles funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
