WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Amy L. Soderberg, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 12, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was born on February 8,1968 and was raised in Holden. She was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, class of 1986. Amy was a registered nurse, and earned her degree from Worcester State College in 1990. She worked for several years at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and spent the following 16 years working for Fallon Community Health Plan as a retrospective claims nurse. Most recently, for the past two years, she was a medical management nurse at Anthem Inc. Insurance Co. In addition, she was a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders. Her life was centered around her family. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, and spent most of her spare time involved in their many activities. Her daughters affectionately remember how committed she was to be part of their lives. Amy could light up a room where ever she went with her contagious smile and unforgettable laughter. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her determination, sense of humor, patience, kindness, and willingness to help others in need. Amy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters, Kirsten A. Blair and her husband, Brice of Rutland and Katarina L. Miller and her fiancé, Dalton Mayo of Glen Allen, Virginia; her longtime companion, Dennis J. Kapusta of Worcester; her father, Norman T. Soderberg of Holden; her biological mother, Linda (Schultz) Daigle and her husband, Gerard of Millville; three brothers, Jon Soderberg of Arizona, Peter Soderberg of West Springfield and Matthew Daigle of Nevada; two sisters, Lisa Daigle of Worcester and Amy Hazen of Shrewsbury; her beloved grandson, C.B. Blair; many nephews and nieces; and her two cats, Rocky and Graycee. She is predeceased by her mother Joyce (Christenson) Soderberg. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Amy’s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
