STERLING – John A. Morrow, Sr., 75, of Sterling, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 17, 2010, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Esther A. (Davis) Morrow; a daughter, Gloria J. Rugg and her husband Raymond Rugg, Sr. of Sterling; three sons, John A. Morrow, Jr. and his wife Harriett of Templeton, Kenneth J. Morrow of Gardner and David K. Morrow and his wife Cheryl of Worcester; a brother, Reginald J. Morrow of New York; two sisters, Alice Farnham of Morrisville, Vermont and Jacqueline Renfrew of Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 expected great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Regina and Elma, predeceased him. He was born in Waterbury, Vermont, the son of Arthur and Esther Morrow and lived many years in Sterling and over twenty years in Barre, Vermont, before moving back to Sterling in 2006.
John worked several years for Allen Lumber Company in Barre, Vermont. Previously, he worked 30 years for Kristoff Brothers in Sterling. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21st, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The Morrow family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Town of Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling; or the Sterling Fair Committee, P.O. Box 545, Sterling, MA 01564.
