Biography
WORCESTER - Alvan H. Wolf, 82, of 4740 South Ocean Blvd., Highland Beach, FL, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014, in Delay Beach Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Bettye (Solod) Wolf; a son, Jon Wolf of Westborough; two daughters, Andrea, wife of Rodd Friedman of Westport, CT and Jamie Slattery of Westborough; a sister, Muriel Landay of Newton; and five grandchildren, Erica Meyer, Joshua Wolf, Sydney Friedman, Jack Friedman and Daniel Slattery. He was predeceased by a son, James Alan Wolf.
He had been a sporting goods manufacturer for many years.
He was born in Boston, the son of Harry and Lillian (Silverman) Wolf and had been a resident of Highland Beach for many years. He maintained a summer residence in Worcester and in New Seabury on Cape Cod.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, IN TEMPLE EMANUEL SINAI, 280 MAY STREET, WORCESTER, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B'Nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road, Worcester.
Memorial Observance will be held through Tuesday evening, December 9, at the residence of Jon Wolf at 68 Powder Hill Way in Westborough.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
