S Anna Allyn Jardus

WORCESTER - Anna Allyn Jardus, of Worcester, died peacefully on Sunday, October 25th in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston.

Her husband, Charles Jardus died in 1992. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Allyn McDonald of South Burlington, VT; 3 nieces, Linda Jardus Fitzpatrick and her husband David of Sterling, Marcia McDonald Ethier and her husband Francis of North Reading and Jane Patterson Fancher and her husband Robert of Columbia, SC; a nephew, Allyn McDonald of Swanton, VT;6 great-nephews and 2 great-great nieces. She was born in East Charleston, Vermont the daughter of Abner and Annie (McLaughlin) Allyn and lived in Worcester since 1932.

Mrs. Jardus was a senior underwriting consultant at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company for 41 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, Worcester Historical Society, Stella Chapter O.E.S. No. 3, Charleston Vermont Historical Society, Mechanics Hall Association and the Music Guild of Worcester.

The family wishes to extend its sincerest appreciation to the staff at Knollwood Nursing Center and Briarwood Assisted Living for their compassionate and skillful care.

A graveside service for Anna will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 30th in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. The Rev. Kevin Bean of All Saints Episcopal Church will officiate. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving St., Worcester, MA 01609; or to a charity of choice. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Rd (Rte. 12), Sterling, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
