Allan W. Earley, 91 passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Oakdale Rehab and Nursing Center, West Boylston, MA.
Allan was born in Worcester, MA, son of the late Harold F. and Dorothy E. (Farrin) Earley. Prior to his death he lived in Sterling, MA for over 21 years.
Allan attended Commerce High School in Worcester, he left prior to graduation to join the United States Army and serve in the Korean War. He was a member of the Third Infantry Division and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant; he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for his service to his country. Upon his return home he began working at Norton Company/Saint Gobain and retired after 35 years of service. Following his retirement from Norton he started a second career as a school bus driver, which he thoroughly enjoyed for over 10 years.
During his younger years Allan was an avid cyclist and was a member of the Seven Hills Wheelmen Club for many years. He was a charter member of the National Korean War Veterans Association and belonged to the Society of the Third Infantry Division, U.S. Army. He was an avid traveler and especially enjoyed traveling to South Korea in 2007 with his granddaughter Caitlin, as part of the Korea Revisited program. Above all else the most important thing in his life, which brought him immense joy, was his family. He was a fiercely loving and loyal father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter Joanne (Greg) Hill of Holden, sons David A. (Paula) Earley of Worcester and Michael Mooney of West Brookfield and daughter Jennifer L. (Michael) Bolduc of Sterling with whom he lived. He also leaves granddaughter Caitlin (Rob) Fong and her children Connor and Sophia Fong of Marlborough and grandsons Thomas A. Bolduc of Sterling and Jonathan (Alycia) Bolduc of Elkins, AR as well as granddaughters Kirby Johnson of Carolina Beach, NC, Megan (Ben) Burridge and her children Lucy, Olivia and Emily Burridge of Wenham, MA and Erin (Rich) Docimo and her children Frankie, Priscilla, Levi and Lorenzo Docimo of West Brookfield. In addition, he leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Ann Mooney, sisters Barbara Lawson and Lois Little and brother Laurence Earley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd, Sterling, MA followed by a 3:00 pm burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street Winchendon, MA.
