WORCESTER - Alicia Lauren McFee, 22, formerly of Holden, passed away Saturday May 13, 2017. Alicia was born in West Point, NY, the daughter of Tina M. (Johnson) McFee and the late MSG Stephen J. McFee and lived in Holden the last 11 years. Alicia is a graduate of St. Peter Marian High School of Worcester and was currently attending Worcester State University, where she was pursuing a degree in communication. While attending school full time, she was also working as a nanny. Alicia had a passion for interior design, for doing makeup and being unique. She encouraged others to express themselves in any way they could. Alicia had an infectious personality that would inspire others to achieve their best. Many of her friends and loved ones looked up to her because of her courage to persevere and positive outlook. She had a passion for writing and loved to travel and experience the wonders of the world. She had an adventurous spirit and loved the beauty of nature and being outdoors. She was happiest when driving in her jeep with the top down, hiking the mountains and being by the water watching the sunrise and set. Alicia had already visited Italy, Portugal, and Spain. Alicia was blessed with a sense of caring and compassion few possess. She was always there to lend an ear to listen, or to offer words of encouragement for anyone in need. Alicia helped many people confront mental illness head on, and preached “it is ok to not be ok.” It was her lifelong mission that people understand they should not be ashamed or embarrassed if they have a mental illness. She comforted them and ensured them they did not need to face their struggle alone. Alicia was very gifted and succeeded in everything she attempted. She will be remembered for her smile, her passion for helping others and her love for children.
