Alice Lillian (Quimby) Easton

Biography
WORCESTER/WEST BOYLSTON – Alice Lillian Easton, 88, died early Sunday morning, September 14, at Oakdale Nursing Home in West Boylston, MA.

Mrs. Easton was born in Bristol Connecticut. She and her parents, Ralph A. and Alice R. Quimby moved to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1928. She graduated from North High School in Worcester and Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. In 1948, she married John R. Easton of Rockport, MA. They moved to Poughkeepsie, New York in 1957 where she resided until 2012. Mr. Easton died in 1992.

Mrs. Easton served as parish administrator at Christ Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie from 1978 to 1996. A member of Christ Church, she sang in the choir and was active in many other church activities. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and belonged to the Poughkeepsie Reading Club and the local chapter of PEO. She was an accomplished artisan and avid gardener.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, John Quimby Easton of
Chicago, IL, David Sanders Easton of Southington, CT, Sarah Easton Phillips of Saugerties, NY, Paul Grafton Easton of Hopewell Junction, NY and Elizabeth Louise Easton of West Boylston, MA. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.


A memorial service for Mrs. Easton will be held on Sunday, September 21 at 3:00 p.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll St., Poughkeepsie, NY. Interment will follow in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
