HOLDEN – Alice M. (Jarvis) Wadsworth, 92, of Mt. Pleasant Ave., Jefferson, died on Tuesday, August 18th in the Sterling Healthcare Center, Sterling after an illness.
Her husband of 57 years, Joseph J. Wadsworth died in 1992. She is survived by 3 nephews, John R. Lonergan of Jefferson, James H. Lonergan of Bakersfield, VT, and David R. Lonergan of Dummerston, VT; and a niece, Mary Ann Davis of Jefferson. She is predeceased by her sister, Doris M. Lonergan who died in 2007.
She was born and raised in Holden the daughter of Almas and Rose (Guertin) Jarvis and had lived in Jefferson her entire life.
Alice graduated from Holden High School and worked for Ross Brothers in Worcester for 25 years, Eastern States Exposition for 10 years and Agway. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson.
Alice was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, grandniece and nephews and great-grandnephew. She was a good friend and good neighbor to all who knew her. We all wish her peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21st in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service will follow with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Jefferson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522.
