WORCESTER - Alice T. (Majcher) George, 88, died peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester. She was born in Worcester, and grew up the daughter of Felix Majcher and Elizabeth (Ziemba) Boucher.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of 41years, William V. George in 1996. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debra A. Kesseli (Vic) of Auburn, Becky A. Goodman (Scott) of Matthews, NC and Cynthia A. (Andrew) of Worcester; her grandchildren, Sarah Kesseli, Katie Kesseli (Dan), Joshua Goodman ( Jori), Jeremy Goodman, Heather Ostrander (Kevin), Megan O'Hearn and Joanne Fahey; her great grandchildren, Hailey O'Hearn, Charlotte Ostrander, Adalynn Baril and Lochlan Goodman; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thaddeus and Leo Majcher; and her sister, Eleanor Corkum.
Alice graduated from Commerce High School and Ward Business School and went on to work as a flight attendant for Colonial Airlines for several years. She married the love of her life, the late William V. George in 1955 and the couple lived in Holden for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Worcester where she leaves many dear friends. Alice had volunteered during periods of Eucharistic Adoration at St. George Church in Worcester. She enjoyed cooking and knitting and took pride in her garden. Above all she cherished her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 21 at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jewish Home Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
