JEFFERSON – Alice Ann (Costello) Sobol, 70, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Vibra Hospital in Rochdale. Born in Wilks-Barre, PA, she was a daughter of John and Gertrude (Gardner) Costello. Alice was a mental health assistant for Worcester State Hospital, Court Evaluation Unit and retired in 2002 after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and traveling to Cape Cod. She was an avid reader and a member of the Barnes and Noble Book Club. She especially enjoyed the writings of James Patterson.She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband, Philip J. Sobol; her 2 sons, Carl R. Sobol and his wife, Marla of Jacksonville, NC and Richard Sobol; her 2 sisters, Marion Bragdon of Bellingham and Joan Colosi of Cape Cod; 4 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by her brothers, Paul and Robert Costello, and by her sister, Jean Halen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service honoring Alice’s life at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
