West Boylston – Alfred (Al) Alex Hesemeyer, age 89, died peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. He was born in New York City, NY, the son of the late Alfred and Martha (Choinak) Hesemeyer and grew up in Brooklyn, NY.
Al was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves his loving wife of 66 years, Winifred (Birch) Hesemeyer; his sons Kirk Hesemeyer and wife Taraneh, Kreg Hesemeyer and wife Christine, and daughter Kirsten Fletcher and husband Michael; his five beloved grandchildren Lauren, Kyle and Kian Hesemeyer and Krista and Keith Fletcher; Brother-in-law Howard Birch of Berlin and Sister-in-law Linda Birch of Westborough; as well as many nephews and nieces.
Alfred graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1950 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Eastern Nazarene College, in Quincy, MA. Alfred worked as a Systems Analyst at Neles-Jamesbury Corp for 25 years. Family and faith were central in Alfred’s life. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in West Boylston.
Above all, Al cherished spending time with his family, and he was a beloved dog owner to his own and other dogs he met.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central St., West Boylston.
