Alexander Richard Klingler

November 20, 1993 — April 14, 2022

STERLING –Alexander Richard Klingler, 28, a well-loved, beautiful soul passed away in the peace of his family’s home on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Alex was a loving son, big brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and great friend to many. He had a kind soul and a heart of gold. He will forever be remembered and dearly missed by his parents, Charles E. and Theresa (Terri) J. (Mahon) Klingler of Sterling; his sister, Savannah J. Klingler; maternal grandmother and his best friend, Mary T. Mahon (Nano) of Leominster; his predeceased paternal grandparents Phyllis (Mimi) and Grandpa Francis Schank of the Villages, Florida; his predeceased paternal grandfather, Richard D. Klingler and predeceased maternal grandfather, Richard J. Mahon; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends.

Alex was born in Leominster on November 20, 1993 and lived with his family in Sterling until his early 20’s. He was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and attended Mt. Wachusett Community College.

As a young boy, Alex was active and passionate about many things. He was involved in numerous sports as soon as he was old enough to pick up a hockey stick or hold a baseball glove. He greatly enjoyed playing DEK hockey and went on to playing ice hockey. He loved to Snowboard with his sister and friends. Alex became a disciplined martial artist and attained the highly honorable degree of Black Belt in the art of Shotokan Karate at Sterling Martial Arts. Throughout childhood and into young adulthood Alex progressed through the Sterling Boy Scouts, ultimately achieving Life Scout.

One of Alex’s main passions for the past 10 years was writing and creating rap and music videos. Alex spent many hours in the studios of L.A. California, collaborating with other talented artists and laying down tracks for quite a few songs and creating his own albums. His music is preserved on various platforms under Glockstarr.

During his early years of high school, Alex had to undergo major lung surgeries, where he was overprescribed medication for pain relief. This lead to some great difficulty in his life and his struggle with addiction. Despite his personal struggles, his life was lived in kindness, compassion and in service to others. He spent several years in Florida and California where he was in recovery and worked many jobs. His most rewarding position was working as a recovery/addiction Counselor to try and rescue troubled individuals from the afflictions of drug addiction. His courage, keen intellect and empathic heart helped save many lives from the perils of this insidious epidemic that is currently destroying the lives of our youth and their families. Alex was an advocate for those most in need. He often bought sandwiches and bottled water and gave them to the homeless and the hungry on the streets of L.A. While in Sterling this past year, he volunteered with his mother, delivering meals to the elderly, disadvantaged and shut-ins for the “Food is Love” program, organized by The First Church.

Our family will miss his big, beautiful smile, his sense of humor, his empathetic and compassionate heart, his warm hugs and his quiet presence.

A Memorial Service will be held at The First Church in Sterling, on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
