Aleck J. Urbanovitch

April 22, 1922 — June 27, 2018

PAXTON - Aleck J. Urbanovitch, 96, died peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, June 27th at Christopher House, Worcester.  He was born in Paxton, the son of Anton and Sophie (Bullock) Urbanovitch and lived in Paxton his entire life.             Aleck attended Paxton schools and went on to work for the Town of Paxton Highway Department for over 40 years.  He was also a skilled stone mason which is evident in the many projects he completed over the years.  Aleck married the love of his life, Rose M. Grzyb in 1944 and the couple built a beautiful home in Paxton which they had lived in since.  He was a member of St. Columba Church in Paxton.  In his retirement, Aleck enjoyed travelling to different corners of the United States as well as Poland with his beloved Rose.  The couple had a passion for polka music and loved polka dancing.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed rooting for the Red Sox.  Aleck was well known for his home garden which he meticulously cared for until recently.  Above all he treasured his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.             Aleck is survived by his beloved wife, Rose M. (Grzyb) Urbanovitch of Paxton; his daughters, Barbara A. Putnam and her husband, David of Rutland, Donna M. Jenkins and her husband, Richard of Paxton and Dorothy T. Price of Paxton; his brother, Joseph Urbanovitch of Florida; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.             The Urbanovitch family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Christopher House in Worcester, Hillside and Putnam Units, for their care and compassion.            Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29th at St. Columba Church 10 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA.  Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery, Richards Ave. (Rte. 56), Paxton.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choosing.  To share a memory or offer a condolence visit "Guest Book."
