HOLDEN/WORCESTER – Albin J. Tribandis, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness. Albin was born and raised in Worcester, the son of Liudzikas and Rose (Kaudarauskas) Tribandis. He had lived many years in Worcester and 12 years in Centerville on Cape Cod before moving to Holden in 1996.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Beverly A. (Varney) Tribandis; three children, Linda J. Rudman and her husband David of Shrewsbury, Allan L. Tribandis and his wife Cynthia of Methuen and Christine R. Woodward and her husband Bruce of Holden; five grandchildren, Jason W. Rudman and his wife Angela, Jennifer L. Rudman and her fiancé Jonathan Earle Daby, Erica A. Tribandis, Hannah L. and Rachel A. Woodward; six great-grandchildren, Liliana Rudman, Julius Nolasco, Averie, Amelia and Carlos Juarez, and Gracie (Thea) Tribandis; and nephews and nieces. A son, Robert L. Tribandis, a brother, Joseph Tribandis, two sisters, Alberta Eagen and Josephine Clifford, and a granddaughter, Kathryn R. Tribandis, predeceased him.
He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School where he was all city in football. He was an Army veteran of World War II, earning the rank of Corporal with the Army Military Police. He was a letter carrier in the City of Worcester for over 30 years. Previously, he worked for the Worcester Gas Company. Albin was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson and The Retired Men’s Club of Greendale in Worcester. He was a former member of the Lithuanian War Veterans and the Lithuanian Social Club. Dad is dancing in heaven pain free with Bobby, Katie and the other angels while we take care of mommy until you two can dance together again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, July 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by 2 p.m. service in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A private committal service will be held at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, 65 Tainter Street, Worcester, MA 01610-2520.
