WORCESTER -- Albert S. Feldman passed away in Westborough on February 8, 2017, at the age of 93. After living in Worcester for over 90 years, he recently moved to Whitney Place, in Westborough, with his wife, Lois, who predeceased him on November 27, 2016.
He was born October 7, 1923, in Worcester, the son of Harry and Ida (Harris) Feldman. He is survived by his three children; Lynn Feldman of Worcester, Curt (and wife Amy) Feldman of Southborough, and Andy (and wife Robin) Feldman of Westborough. He also leaves 4 grandchildren; Jamie (and her Fiancé, Seth) of Milford, Matt, of Houston,TX, and Jonathan and Isabel of Westborough. He is also survived by his sister, Freda Abrams of Worcester, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia (Feldman) Funk in 1980.
Albert proudly served his country during WWII in Europe and North Africa. He was honorably discharged after the war and happily used the G.I. Bill to attend Boston University, where he obtained his Accounting degree in 1949. After college, he worked for various companies in their Accounting and Finance Departments. He eventually met and married Lois in 1953. He started working for Presmet Corp. in Worcester in the early 1960's, later becoming Controller. In 1982 he became part-owner of the Broadway Soda Store, Inc, on Water Street in Worcester, where he worked until his retirement last year. He spent the last 27 years working alongside his youngest son, Andy.
Al was a voracious reader and lover of theater, and especially music. He and Lois were long time subscribers to Music Worcester and thoroughly relished coming to the great Mechanics Hall for concerts. He loved to travel with his wife, taking many trips to Europe and Israel. He also was an avid tennis player. He was a founding member of Holden Towers Tennis Club, where he continued to play into his 90's. He loved rooting on the Boston professional sports teams, but his greatest joy and passion was watching his New England Patriots from their inception in 1960 through their many championships.
