Biography

SPENCER – Alan N. Berman, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus.  Born and raised in Worcester, Alan was the son of Maurice L. and the late Carol (Garovoy) Berman and lived 17 years in Leicester before moving to Spencer in 2011.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his two sons, Cody D. and Samuel A. Berman, both of Leicester; his father, Maurice L. Berman and his wife, Marlene of Ft. Myers, FL; his sister, Bobbi H. Fallon and her husband, Michael of Worcester; his brother, Bruce G. Berman and his wife, Carol of Boynton Beach, FL; his companion, Lisa Theoharides of Leicester and her two daughters, Stephanie and Jennifer Tee; his two aunts, Enid Garovoy and Ruth Berman, both of Worcester; nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews; cousins; and his Great Dane, “Amber.”
Alan was a graduate of Doherty High School in Worcester class of 1975. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Alan began his 40 year career in the media and advertising industry. He was Vice President of Davis Advertising in Worcester where he worked the last 28 years.He had an inherent love of music, even playing the harmonica like he was born with one in his hand. He enjoyed attending concerts with his family and friends and even recently attended "XLO's Acoustic Xmas" where he met the Goo Goo Dolls.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed his Sunday morning rides.  Alan looked forward to spending time with his two sons whether it be making maple syrup in the spring or relaxing at their home on Sugden Reservoir in Spencer. He will be remembered best for his big heart and engaging personality.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, December 17th at the Beth Israel Synagogue, 15 Jamesbury Dr., Worcester under the direction Richard Perlman of Miles Funeral Home of Holden. Burial will be private at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon.
