Agnes A. (Carlson) Jacobson

HOLDEN – Agnes A. (Carlson) Jacobson, 95, died Tuesday, August 4, 2004 in UMass Memorial Health Care, Worcester after an illness.

Her husband, Albert E. Jacobson, died in 1985. She leaves a daughter, Sandra A. Packard and her husband Stephen J. of Holden; four grandchildren, Richard McElhiney of South Yarmouth, Sean McElhiney of Ashuelot, New Hampshire, Sandra Lee Vitale of Wall Township, New Jersey, Mark Rayworth of Hubbardston and Stephen J. Packard of Malden; eight great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Helen L. Travers, died May 21 of this year. Four brothers and three sisters predeceased her.

Mrs. Jacobson graduated from Holden High School and worked 17 years as the assistant cafeteria manager at Dawson Elementary School in Holden. Previously, she worked in the Actuarial Dept. at State Mutual Assurance Company in Worcester. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Holden and the Holden Grange. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Jacobson will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, in the First Congregational Church, 1180 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Congregational Church, 1180 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
