PAXTON/CONCORD, NC – Estelle A. (Dube) Gemme, 91, formerly of Paxton, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Horizon Bay Assisted Living, Concord, North Carolina, after an illness.
Her husband of 53 years, Leo M. Gemme, died in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne T. (Gemme) and her husband Arthur L. Hogge III of Huntersville, NC and their children, Michael J. Hogge of Arlington, VA and Matthew L. Hogge of Charlotte, NC. Two brothers, Clodomir J. and Robert A. Dube, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester on June 7, 1919, the daughter of Hygin C. and Eva R. (Girard) Dube and had lived in Paxton for 48 years before moving to North Carolina in 2006.
Estelle graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Worcester in 1935 and worked as a certified dental assistant for 23 years. She was a member of St. Columba Parish in Paxton, the Paxton Council on Aging and a past active member of the Women's Club of Paxton.
The funeral service for Estelle will be held on Thursday, March 31st, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
