LEICESTER/NASHVILLE, TN - Adele C. (Kostyla) Cote, 93, passed away peacefully at home in Tennessee on Monday, December 4, 2017. Born in Chicopee Falls, Adele was the daughter of Jacob and Rose Lee B. (Kupczlas) Kostyla and lived 47 years in Leicester before moving to Tennessee, in 2004, to live with her daughter, Sandra. She attended Commerce High School in Springfield. Adele met and fell in love with Francis "Fran" A. Cote of Paxton and they married on January 12, 1945; a marriage which lasted almost 50 years until Fran's passing on June 12, 1994. Adele is survived by her two daughters, Carol A. Mullins of Hinsdale, NH and Sandra L. Berryhill of Nashville; a sister Irene Williams of Springfield; seven grandchildren, James Mullins, Jr. and his wife, Jill, Sean Mullins and his wife, Kelly, Adam Mullins, Holly Mullins and her fiancé, Ryan Ross, Steven Berryhill, Lauri Gregoire, Michael Berryhill and his wife, Esneda, and adopted grandson, Jamie Cooley; seven great-grandchildren, Brianna Berryhill, Christina and Mandara Mullins, Marisa Williams, Lydia Ross, Steven Berryhill, and Paul Gregoire III; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Patricia Cote; sisters-in-law, Rose Cote and Frances Cote; and many nieces and nephews. Four sisters, Sophie Kostyla, Mary Longo, Nellie Lombardi and Veronica Lombardi, a brother, Joseph Kostyla and her son-in-law, James F. Mullins, Jr., all predeceased her. She was employed by General Electric in Ashland for 49 years as a master packer, before retiring to take care of Fran. Adele was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, She had such a wonderful, generous, caring heart and spirit and would do anything for family and friends whom needed her help. Adele was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester, until her move to Nashville. She was a lifetime member of the DAV and was a junior vice commander, having married Francis who was seriously wounded on the 5th day of the invasion of Normandy in France during World War II. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Adele's family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a procession to St. George's Church, 38 Brattle Street in Worcester where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
