HOLDEN – Ann A. (Culliton) Cooke, 93, of Mt. View Drive, died peacefully in Holden Nursing Home on Sunday, July 19, 2009.
Her husband of 63 years, John W. Cooke died in February of 1997. She leaves two daughters, Carol Ann Horrigan and her husband Richard of Freedom, New Hampshire and Diane Cooke Brown and her husband Donald, with whom she lived; a son, Daniel J. Cooke and his wife MaryAnn of Bay Village, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Alice Cooke of West Boylston; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Leonard J. Cooke died in February of 2008. Two brothers, William and John Culliton and a sister, Mary Culliton, predeceased her.
Ann was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, a daughter of William J. and Mary A. (Casey) Culliton and lived in Clinton before moving to Holden 74 years ago. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester and worked for the former Mayo's Pharmacy in Holden for 36 years, retiring as store manager in 1991.
Ann's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Holden Nursing Home and Evercare Hospice & Palliative Care of Waltham for their warm care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Ann will be held on Thursday, July 23rd, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to the Evercare Hospice & Palliative Care, 950 Winter Street #4830, Waltham, MA 02451-1424.
