STERLING – John A. Colucci, 80 formerly of Wolcott, Connecticut, passed away on Tuesday, October, 20, 2009.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 57 years, Joan T. (Nardiello) Colucci. He also leaves two sons, Attorney John D. Colucci and his wife Lisa of Wenham, Thomas Colucci and his partner John O'Connell of Milton; a daughter, Regina Engel and her husband James of Sterling; five grandsons, whom he adored, Sean, Austin and Eyob Engel and Nicholas and Thomas Colucci; a brother, Neil Colucci and his wife Helen of Waterbury, CT; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Yolanda D'Agostino predeceased him. He was born on June 5, 1929 in Waterbury, CT, the son of Michael and Louise (Sbordone) Colucci and lived in Sterling since 2001.
John graduated from Leavenworth High School and attended the University of Connecticut. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was the former owner of the Edson Manufacturing Company in Wolcott, CT. He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22nd in the Miles-Sterling funeral home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Mr. Colucci will be held on Friday, October 23rd, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Town of Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564; or to St. Richard of Chichester Church, P.O. Box 657, Sterling, MA 01564-0657.
