HOLDEN – Barbara A. (Brunzell) Melick, 79, formerly of Holden, died peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in UMass Memorial-Memorial Campus, Worcester after an illness.
She leaves two sons, Joel W. Melick and his wife Jane of Moriah, New York and Jay W. Melick and his wife Patricia of Princeton; a daughter, Kim B. Melick of Paxton; a brother, Robert Brunzell and his wife Joan of Cotuit; a sister, Shirley Johnson and her husband Robert of Worcester; two grandchildren, Blake A. and Carter Melick; several nephews and nieces. A sister, Elsie Soderberg of Holden predeceased her. She was born in Barre, the daughter of Alex and Elsie (Ingle) Brunzell and lived most of her life in Holden.
Barbara worked Massachusetts Department of Revenue in Worcester for 15 years. She was a member of the former St. John's Episcopal Church in Worcester and enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing at Basin Harbor in Vermont.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 3rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A private graveside service will be held at All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Why Me? And Sherry House, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
