WORCESTER – Dorothy A. (Briggs) Fife, 82, of Worcester died peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center, South Dennis after an illness.
Her husband, Clifford W. Fife, Sr. died in 1998. She leaves a son, Robert E. Fife and his wife Sandra of South Yarmouth; two daughters, Annette P. Fife and Viola T. Wardell and her husband Andrew all of Worcester; two brothers, Herbert Briggs of California and Robert Briggs of Worcester; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Her son, Clifford W. Fife, Jr., died in 2004. A brother, Arthur Briggs died this year. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Herbert W. and Annette (Belisle) Briggs and lived in Worcester most of her life.
Mrs. Fife was devoted to her husband, her high school sweetheart, with whom she was married to for 54 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was known for opening her home for those in need. She was a member of Greendale People's Church in Worcester and also enjoyed volunteering, making dolls, sewing, and crafts.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15th, at Rural Cemetery, Rutland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, MA 01606. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden is directing arrangements.
