WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Marion A. (Bohn) (Nelson) Larson a 35-year resident of Holden, died on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the St. Mary's Healthcare Center, Worcester. She was 94 years old.
She was born on March 9, 1917 in Worcester, daughter of Peter T. and Mathilda K. (Hedenstad) Bohn, and was a graduate of Commerce High School. In 1939 she married Howard Nelson and was married for 20 years until he passed away in 1959. In 1966 she married Edward E. Larson, who passed away in 1982.
Marion is survived by her son, Steven Nelson and his wife Barbro of Burlington, WA; her brother, Walter Bohn of Largo, FL; daughter-in-law, Sheila Nelson of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and step-daughters, Karen Goulet and her husband Norman of Melbourne, FL and Susan Martel and her husband Joseph of East Brookfield and their families; several nieces and nephews and their families. Two sons, John R. Nelson died in 1945 and Laurance P. Nelson died in 2006.
She worked for Norton Co., C & R Tire and the Town of Holden D.P.W., retiring in 1982. She volunteered at the Corner Shop and Rice Elementary School, both in Holden, and was a member of Salem Covenant Church and its Covenant Women's Ministries, the Chaffin's Women's Club, Retired State County & Municipal Employees Association and AARP.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11th, in the funeral home with burial following in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
