Gary A. Anderson

HOLDEN – Gary A. Anderson, 69, of Flagler Drive, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a short illness.

He is survived by two daughters, Christine R. Sugarman, her husband Richard and children Hannah and Jenna of Holden, and Colleen S. Thibeault, her husband James and children, James, Jessica and great-granddaughter, Lillian all of Leicester; and his cat, Lucky. He was born in Worcester, the son of Urban A. and Viola L. (Hickson) Anderson and lived in Leicester and Holden most of his life.

Gary attended Wachusett Regional High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for the City of Worcester Parks and Recreation Department for over 10 years. Previously he worked at Quality Seafood and Marr Oil Company, both in Worcester. He was a member of the American Legion Post 443 in Cherry Valley and loved fishing and spending time at Cape Cod.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 11 a.m. to 12 noon followed by a funeral service at 12 noon on Friday, November 27th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
