HOLDEN – Christine A. (Ahearn) LaHair, 64, died peacefully, with her loving husband by her side, after a two and half year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester, on Thursday, January, 21, 2010.
She leaves her beloved husband and dearest friend of 43 years, Joseph F. LaHair of Holden; her daughter, Dena M. McDonaugh and her husband Simon of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Mildred "Mitzie" Langevin of Chesterville, ME and Barbara Jackson of San Ramon, CA; and three lovely granddaughters, Saxon Paige, Beatrix Marie and Pippa Louise; several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her brother, George Ahearn predeceased her. She was born in Spencer, the daughter of John and Loretta (Godaire) Ahearn, raised in Paxton and lived 39 years in Holden.
Christine graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1963 and later from Quinsigamond Community College. She was an executive secretary at Diebold Inc. in Marlboro. Previously, she worked at Shawmut Bank and Jamesbury Company both in Worcester. Chris was an exceptional craftswoman and displayed her stained glass creations throughout New England. She loved cats and leaves her beloved Barney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours for Christine from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Monday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be private.
