A Marjorie (Griffiths) Fray

WORCESTER – A. Marjorie (Griffiths) Fray, 92, of Outlook Drive, died Friday, January 30, 2009 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after a short illness.

Her husband, Fred W. Fray, died in 1974. Her sons, Robert F. Fray died in 1988 and Wayne E. Fray died in 1961. A brother, Howard Griffiths, and a sister, B. May Griffiths, predeceased her. She leaves three nieces, Judith M. Roy of West Boylston who was also her caregiver, Joan Dube of Leicester and Susan Sulkoski of Worcester; and 5 nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ernest W.H. and Beatrice (Church) Griffiths, and lived in Auburn for 40 years before moving to Worcester 34 years ago.

Marge was a graduate of South High School and the Elizabeth Ollis School of Hairdressing, both in Worcester. She was a member of the Hadwen Park Congregational Church where she was known as the church's Matriarch - for being the longest member joining in April 21, 1935.

A graveside service for Marge will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 2nd, at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester, MA 01603. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
