HOLDEN – Tul R. Frederickson, 89, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Evelyn R. (Berglund) Frederickson; a son, Dana P. Frederickson of Holden; a daughter, Paula F. Janowski and her husband Paul of Princeton; a grandson, Bradford Janowski of Princeton; and many nephews and nieces. A brother, Rudolph Holmquist and three sisters, Alice Roper, Anna Dittmer and Gunhild Harkins, predeceased him.
Tul was born in Worcester, the son of Carl F. and Beda (Sjoblom) Frederickson and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden 9 years ago. He graduated from Worcester Academy and Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a World War II Army veteran serving with the 803rd Field Artillery Battalion during the battle of New Guinea and Southern Philippines. Tul was the former owner and manager of C.F. Frederickson Woodworking Company in Worcester, a company his father had founded. He also was employed by the National Lumber Manufacturers Association in Washington, DC, the American Institute of Timber Construction in Chicago, IL and retired as a self employed land surveyor. He taught Sunday school and served on church committees for several Lutheran churches. He enjoyed tennis, golf, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602-3213.
