Stephen Peck, Md

May 4, 1948 — November 13, 2023

RINDGE, NH - Stephen Peck, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and accomplished physician, passed away on November 13th, 2023. He was born on May 4th, 1948, in The Bronx, New York, to Harry and Harriet Peck. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cynthia Peck; their four sons, Jason, Matthew (Christine), Jonathan (Nadyia), and Louis (Ellen); his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Colleen; their two children, Brenna and Daniel; as well as nine grandchildren: Gabriella, Nicholas, Olivia, Conner, Julianna, Levi, Henry, Amelia, and Rocco.

Stephen's life was marked by resilience, determination, and a deep sense of humor. His journey began with a near-fatal accident in his childhood when he was critically injured and went into a coma. Against all odds, he made a remarkable recovery after 10 weeks of hospitalization, showcasing his extraordinary strength from an early age.

Inspired by this experience, Stephen pursued a career in medicine. Although he was known for his mischievous pranks in school, he heeded his father's advice to "buckle down" and became an A-student, eventually earning a pre-med degree from Adelphi University. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Cindy, and began building a family filled with love, excitement, and adventure. He continued his education at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he earned a medical degree. Stephen completed his medical residency in radiology at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, and spent the rest of his career at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts, where he tirelessly served his patients and colleagues. Despite proclaiming retirement in 2004, he returned to assist his colleagues for years, on numerous occasions, a testament to his dedication to both his profession and the people he cared for. He officially retired in 2012.

Stephen's passion for cars was evident throughout his life, starting with his cherished 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook and leading to a collection of 22 vehicles. Known for his phenomenal sense of humor, Stephen brightened even the most serious environments with his infectious laughter and playful antics.

In retirement, Stephen cherished the simple pleasures of life, including drives in his beloved cars, listening to music, spending time with his family, riding his bicycle, and traveling across the country. Stephen escaped New England winters to his second home in Gilbert, Arizona, for nine years, where he had a community of friends and family.
His legacy lives on in the wisdom he shared and the laughter he brought to all who knew him.

Stephen Peck will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community he served. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and a profound appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
