STERLING, MA - Saul (Schlitten) Shelton passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. He leaves behind his daughter Amy Lembo and husband, Pat; as well as his other daughter, Deborah Bershel. In addition, four grandchildren , Jordanna Riggs (Keith Riggs), Julianna Lembo, Ari Geier (Loray Geier), and Naomi Hein (Chris Hein); along with five great-grandchildren Theo, Hazel ,Rosalie, Naftali, and Tsruya, . Family and friends are invited to honor Saul’s life at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 1, 2023, at B'nai Brith Cemetery Route, 128 N/Yankee Division Highway, Peabody.

Saul loved his wife Marilyn and his entire family dearly and was able to celebrate his 100th birthday joyously, barely a week before his passing. He adored his New York Times, racquet sports and fishing. And while he often a man of few words, he was not afraid to cry and openly express his love. He rediscovered Judaism later in life and had a second Bar Mitzvah at 83 where he led services and chanted the haftarah. Always interested in living healthfully, when in 1963 the Surgeon General announced smoking caused cancer and heart disease, he threw out his last pack of cigarettes and never toucher another one. Unlike some, he did not touch many lives, but he inspired the lives of those who got to know and love him.
