Seneca, SC/Sterling - With sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, and heart of the family, Rosaleen on December 26, 2020.

Our mother enters into her eternal rest 16 years after the loss of our beloved father and head of the family, Thomas. It was 1955 when Rosaleen "Roly" O'Rourke arrived in Boston from Nass, Ireland, and soon meet Thomas "Tommy" Bevan of Lucan, Ireland while dancing into the Boston nights. Soon, on December 26, 1957 the two joined together in holy matrimony and began their family and adventure.

Today, after 63 years, the fruits of their marriage is visible in their six children left behind; Dolores Goodwin (Robert) of New Port Richey, FL; Thomas Bevan (Flora) of Clermont, FL; Monica Aldridge (Timothy) of Seneca, SC; Mary Belanger (Paul) of Salem, SC; Rosaleen Varnes (Wendell) of Beaufort, SC and David Bevan of Somerville, MA, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. Rosaleen also leaves her sister Johanna Ward of Bellingham, MA, and many other siblings in Ireland.

While Tommy and Roly's dancing into the night with friends ended some years ago, it is with faith and hope that they are once again in each other's loving embrace. Rest in Peace Mom, until we meet again.

Our mom spent the last seven years at Lila Doyle Nursing Facility in Seneca, SC where she received loving care, especially from the following staff members: Jenna, Bobbie-Jo, Metasha, Heather, Laura, Beth, Ian, Patrick and Shelly, and so many others. Even the Engineering and Housekeeping staff were like great friends after all those years. We will forever be grateful for their kindness.

Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling, MA. will be handling preparations, and viewing will be private due to Covid restrictions.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 809 Main Street, Lancaster, MA. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating will be limited to immediate family members. Loved ones and friends are welcome to attend the burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster, MA. Appropriate covid-19 precautions including face masks and social distancing will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lila Doyle Activities Department, 101 Lila Doyle Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to a local food bank or shelter.
