Robert Friedman

HOLDEN - Robert Friedman, 60, beloved husband of Linda L. (Urbanovitch) Friedman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in Jersey City, NJ he was the son of Sondra (Hirsh) Friedman and the late Dr. Morton Friedman.

He was raised and educated in Montvale, NJ and graduated from Syracuse University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Robert went on to further his education at Columbia School of Engineering, earning his MSE in Engineering and Operations Research. He was a Reliability Engineer in the computer science industry for over twenty years. He began his career with Digital Equipment Corporation in 1981 and also worked for the Steinbrecher Corporation, Ascend Computer Corporation and Lucent Technologies, retiring in 2002.

Robert was a man’s man in every sense. He had a passion for fishing and spent countless hours aboard his boat, the “Linda Letme”. He also loved ice fishing and was proud to have won the fishing tournament at Lake Winnipesaukee. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, playing pool and a good game of cards.

Robert will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife, Linda; his mother, Sondra Friedman of Amenia, NY; a sister, Lori Goldfinger and her husband, James of PA; and three nephews, Chason, Asher, and Daden Goldfinger.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Robert’s family from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service honoring his life at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 3, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, 1284 Main Street, Holden.
